Financial Market Summary

DJIA slumped 1.1% to close at 12,849.6. NASDAQ tumbled 1.4% to settle at 3,011.3. S&P 500 plunged 1.2% to finish at 1,370.3.

Nikkei 225 index is trading 1.4% lower at 9,498.7.

FTSE 100 dropped 1.0% to close at 5,651.8.

FTSEurofirst 300 index lost 1.6% to end at 1,027.7.

In Asia, crude oil for May delivery is trading 0.6% or $0.63 lower at $102.20 per barrel.

At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading 0.1% lower against the USD at $1.5831, 0.2% higher against the EUR at €1.2153, and 0.4% lower against the JPY at ¥128.07.
