DJIA closed 0.6% higher at 12,921.4. NASDAQ ended 0.8% lower at 2,988.4. S&P 500 closed 0.1%lower at 1,369.6.

Nikkei 225 index is trading 0.2% higher at 9,487.6.

FTSE 100 edged up 0.3% to close at 5,666.3.

FTSEurofirst 300 index advanced 0.5% to end at 1,032.4.

In Asia, crude oil for May delivery is trading marginally higher at $102.94 per barrel.

At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading 0.1% lower against the USD at $1.5888, marginally higher against the EUR at €1.2114, and 0.1% higher against the JPY at ¥127.88.
